JND
Sunday means practice, it's gotta be done/
There's probably some who'd rather be gone than huddled in front/
Of the one heater - it's freezing, my hands hurt/
Keep dreaming of eating from speaking my damn words/
Some have got ganja, I've got my stellas ready/
It provokes passion, some’d called aggression, steady/
Deliver my phrases, tryin to write classics/
Right now I'll take it back to basics damnit/
Practice usually means me computing the beats/
On Fruity Loops 3 - head nodding till it's 2 on my screen/
Need to stop depriving myself/
My time's divided, need to focus on writing as well/
As providing an outlet centre reviving my health/
No more degree assignments, my college mentor's kind of a bell/
Downsized to further education from higher for wealth/
I guess we'll see the live bands mightily swell/
But I'm tired of pedigree snides booking us twisted/
Telling us to be swift when sound checking at 5's unrealistic/
Yet I love it cos it's something of dreams/
And I'm still sat here just bumping a beat//
CHORUS
There's more to practice than meets the eye/
On breaks and beats we’re live and just as sweet as Sunday nights /
We make it worth it /
Listen man, practice makes perfect
ExP
From the 7th of Feb, 6 hours practice and then did a set/
A ton and free pool man, but never again/
Stress in my head, work FK! to start getting some bread/
Cos practice is 20 quid, and then there's expense/
Organise gigs and haggle prices with right dicks/
Who are like "shit, I can't afford 5 quid/
To pay you guys for a pint, what you think I'm rich?/
So yeah, see you later, have a nice drive kids"/
So I got petrol prices threatening the band/
I got members who tended to forget that there's a plan/
And we aren't a flippin joke, this requires commitment/
At least a quick text if you're gonna pull a sick sun/
Day, but someday this'll be a profession/
That's not something I'm needing to question/
You can see my aggression since me and The Jesus started to speak of conception/
So I bleed in a session, to beats of perfection/
Wear ear protection to protect from tinitus/
A blind eye for cynicial critics who pretty much jus spit on us/
This int a fixed fate, we'll see how long the piss takes/
Come have a go, like JND on the drums at spliff break//
CHORUS
There's more to practice than meets the eye/
On breaks and beats we’re live and just as sweet as Sunday nights /
We make it worth it /
Listen man, practice makes perfect
